Time Machine and several other Archaeological objects.
The Time Machine is a currently unusable block that is planned to be used to travel to a new dimension. It is the most expensive thing in the mod, as it requires three of the extremely rare Scarab Gems and a Nether Star which can only be obtained through killing the wither.

Appearance
The Time-Machine is a short gold plated block somewhat resembling an End Portal Frame, with red on its sides and a scarab gem imprint on it. When the Ancient Clock isn’t on top of it, it just has a hole in the middle, but if the Clock is put on it, then it will float atop the Time Machine.
How To Use
To use the Time Machine, you must first find the Ancient Key by slaying the warlord Anu in his Castle. You must then travel to the The Room and unlock the Ancient Treasure Chest in the hidden room, which will reward you with an Ancient Clock.
You must now put the Ancient Clock in the Time Machine to work it, which will start a timer. When this timer is up, words will pop up on the Time Machine GUI. It will say: «Coming Soon.» The Time-Machine currently cannot be used beyond this.

Attack Damage
)Anu (aka, ‘The Ancient King’) is the Fossils and Archeology Revival mod’s first and only boss mob. He was fully implemented in the 7.2, ‘Ancient Kings’ Update. He resembles a zombie pigman wearing an ancient helmet. He has some sounds, but he mostly uses dialogue during different stages of the battle. He can be found in a large castle, defended by anubites and sentry pigmen, that is accessed through the Nether. He must be defeated in order to gain the ancient key, a precursor to unlocking the power of time travel in order to visit the dimension that Anu originally came from.

BATTLE AND BEHAVIOR
The process of finding and defeating Anu is, to put simply, extremely long, dangerous, and in general a challenge. The following items are strongly suggested for the player’s journey into his Lair of Darkness.
DISCOVERING
The first step to discovering Anu is to explore the Nether. In the Nether, the player is able to find a structure called a Hell Boat. On the hell boat is a statue of Anu, which must be surrounded with the four redstone and four figurines of any type as shown in the image to the right (Note: One figurine has been omitted so that the picture could be taken). Correct placement will result in an explosion that has the possibility of knocking players off the boat. In the statue’s place will be a portal. Walking through the portal teleports players to a platform outside Anu’s Castle. Players must use the blocks they brought to make a bridge to the castle. Once in the castle, players must make their way past the dangerous sentry pigmen and anubite statues until they discover the arena. In the center of the arena lies the mysterious sarcophagus on a floating platform.

AWAKENING
The player must make their way onto the platform using more blocks. Once there, the Scarab Gem must be placed onto the sarcophagus. It will appear to embed itself in the sarcophagus. With one more right-click of the sarcophagus, the gem will come loose. The door will rapidly spring open, revealing Anu and giving the player the achievement «Ruler of the Undead!». He has officially been awakened, and will be instantly aggressive, commanding, «Kneel before me, resistance is futile.»
BATTLING
Anu will immediately begin his melee stage. In this stage, he will attack with an Ancient Sword with a 1/5 chance of summoning lightning when he lands a hit. He runs at twice the speed of a player’s normal walk speed. The best weapon to fight him with during this stage is a sword or another melee weapon. When hit by a sword (or fists) he will demand the player «Draw your sword.» He is in this stage while he is between 600 and 400 health. Anu will not heal during this stage.

Once his health dips below 400, Anu will change to his ranged stage. He will grow black wings and fly in order to stop players from using their melee weapons. His weapon of choice during this stage are fireballs. These fireballs are twice as strong as those of a ghast. He is also able to spawn sentry pigmen and rarely Anubites. The best weapon to fight him with during this stage is a bow or another ranged weapon. When hit with arrows, he will resort to name-calling: «Bow-using coward! Stop hiding!» This stage lasts until he reaches 200 health.
Anu’s final stage is his defensive stage. He can spawn many mobs to distract the player, such as blazes, bow-wielding wither skeletons, zombie pigmen, sentry pigmen, and anubites to distract players. When calling in the blazes, he commands, «Blazes! Destroy the enemy!»; with wither skeletons, he shouts «Archers, fire!«; with sentry pigmen, he says, «Brutes, wake up your wisdom.» He also tends to spawn Obsidian Spikes to cover the ground, which substantially slow down the player. Randomly, he creates an obsidian dome to protect himself (hence the need for a pickaxe). Anu will constantly avoid the player in this stage and display a texture similar to lava particles of healing. This stage lasts until he reaches 0 health.

When Anu reaches 0 health, he collapses on the ground, screaming «No. « and the player gets the achievement «The Middle.» Then, his black soul explodes out of his body to allow him to fight once more. While this is happening, a ray of smoke particles appears and he will drop an Ancient Key. If a player right clicks on Anu’s body before it disappears, they will be teleported to The Room, in which the ancient key is necessary to open the Ancient Treasure Chest.
Spamming a scarab gem on the mysterious sarcophagus in the middle of Anu’s castle will trigger a bug in which multiple Anus may spawn.
Upcoming Content
The Fossils and Archeology: Revival mod is constantly evolving! The developers have many short-term and long-term goals for content that will be introduced to the mod, and occasionally they share details of these goals with the community. The information provided on this page is subject to change, and aside from the NEXT UPDATE, the future content could arrive at any time and in any order.
This page is for providing information on the planned content of future updates. Release dates will never be included on this page, and we cannot provide future release dates. Comments asking for release dates or ETAs will be removed.

NEXT UPDATE: 8.0.6?
8.0.6 will be a port update to move the mod to a newer version of Minecraft, 1.16. There are unlikely to be any new mobs or features in this update, as most of the developers are very busy with their personal lives, and 1.12 to 1.16 is a big jump.
FUTURE CHANGES
There are three major content refreshes/additions coming to F/A. Each «chunk» of content may be broken down into smaller pieces when implemented, and may be implemented in any order. Also, keep in mind that most of this content will be world-breaking, so they will require a new world once implemented.

An example of how the Tyrannosaurus fossil will generate in the world.
PALEONTOLOGY
The paleontology rehaul will completely reimagine the current fossil system. Instead of finding fossil ore that drops a generic bio-fossil, you will find articulated skeletons of the animals that you will have to mine with a special tool (not yet named). This new system will probably include at least one minigame, which is exciting!
The other drops from fossil ore, like the Scarab Gem or Relic Scrap, will drop from new ore types. By separating the archeology items from the paleontology drops, the mod will be drawing a more defined line between the two often-confused fields. The addition of a Paleontologist Villager in 8.0.4 was part of this effort, because it did not make sense for the Archaeologist Villager to trade dinosaur fossils.

An example of a Dodo fossil model in a walking pose.
The last change coming with the paleontology rehaul is a revisit to how fossil models are made. Instead of right-clicking a bio-fossil on the ground to get a random skeleton, models will be made using a species’ bone drops. The exact way the bone items will be used to construct the fossil models is unknown at this time. Lastly, fossil models will be given exciting action poses, which will make museums more lively!
ARCHEOLOGY
Because the Fossils and Archeology: Revival mod is currently overwhelmed with paleontology content, the devs will add a huge amount of archeology content in order to bring the two fields to a balance. Around 10 ancient civilizations inspired by world history are planned for this purpose, each including multiple structures, weapons, decorations, etc. from their respective real-world counterparts! Every civilization will spawn in its own designated biome, so there will not be much, if any, spatial overlap between them. The confirmed civilizations include the following:

Egyptian bird and jackal statues, based on real Egyptian art.
Because the F/A devs take such care to represent paleontology accurately, they will also take care to do justice to archeology. This means that largely fictional things like magic, booby traps, monsters (including boss mobs), etc. will be rare in the real-life civilizations they are adding. However, to tie in with Minecraft and mod lore, each culture will have several whimsical details to connect it to the «history» of your Minecraft world.

«We’re not big on having bosses. You always gotta do special s*** with them, and if we add more bosses, they’d have to be archeology stuff. We’re trying not to do that stuff for the arch’ side. It’s part of trying to make archeology more realistic rather than the sensationalized stuff in Indiana Jones, for example.»
TIME-MACHINE
Yes, someday the Time-Machine will deliver players to the long-awaited dimension! This dimension, called The Past, will be part of an alternate universe where prehistoric creatures of all time periods spawn together naturally. This may not be the most realistic thing, but the devs have stated that it is a necessary sacrifice in order to reduce lag. To solve the inaccuracy problem, there will be biomes specific to individual time periods: Permian Desert, Triassic Scrubland, Paleogene Rainforest, among many others.
Approximately 125 total prehistoric creatures (including the ones already in game) are planned to be in the mod by the time The Past is added. This will allow the dimension to have functioning ecosystems in each biome and across every time period. Most of these mobs will be implemented in updates prior to the addition of The Past, in order to lighten the load of work that will be necessary in creating the dimension. Of course, a huge number of plants and blocks will also be added, to fully flesh out these biomes.
A few things to note about The Past: There will not be a «Butterfly effect,» in which modifying the dimension results in changes in the overworld, because as previously stated this dimension will be part of an alternate universe. Also, because the prehistoric creatures and archeology structures that will be added are based on things that existed in real life, there will be no dimension-specific mobs or structures. Since the devs realize that these limitations may be frustrating to some fans who expected more out of the dimension, they have hinted at special details of the dimension that will make the Anu boss battle worthwhile!
